Hi, Almost everything we have is made to order so any of the potatoes such as American fries and hash browns can be made without butter but oil instead if you let the staff know. We do only have one large fryer which uses vegetable oil but everything is made in one. We offer fruit bowls, a fruit, yogurt, granola parfait and Oatmeal for breakfast options. Also our newest addition is our Veggie Burger which is by LIghtlife and looks to be Vegan, I will include the link to the product below so you can view it yourself. We also offer a Great Veggie salad which we put whatever veggies are in season and available on it. Most of our soups are cream based but occasionally we have a vegetable soup that is tomato based and vegan. If you let us know when you are coming to Port Austin we can try to have it then. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have. https://lightlife.com/product/plant-based-burger/
We would be coming by boat. Are you within walking distance
The server girl was just plain RUDE. For example, asked for lemon with water, was told that they only add lemon to ice tea. When I explained that I just had a water with lemon the day before, she (literally) rolled her eyes & began to ignore me! Eventually, water & ice tea (ordered by a friend) arrived, no lemon in either!! Ordered a coffee with the water. Coffee didn't arrive until 1/2 hr later!!When bringing food, she just DROPPED (literally) at one end of the table. Four of us in the group had to serve ourselves. Eventually, everyone was so mad & afraid of her that we just got our own silverware & to-go boxes from the counter!!When paying, she just flipped the payment tablet at me without saying a word! The absolute WORST service, enter from the girl!!
Awesome food, great service!!! Best carrot cake EVER!!!!!!
Found this little gem on our way up to Port Austin. The food and service we're great. It's a hometown restaurant and not fancy but it more than met our expectations.
Nice little Family restaurant. Good food and reasonable prices. Staff was friendly.
Good breakfast but if you like your bacon crisp be sure to ask. It seems sa though the food was rushed another at my table had bacon that was burnt. I'll go again and will stipulate how to cook my bacon.
Terrible service only checked on us to get us our food, not very clean, could be just because a bad day.
Service was terrible, we asked our waitress for lemon in our water, she said they don't do that. A group of 4 ladies came in right after us and they got lemon in their water? Why couldn't we have it? I then had to flag my waitress down for a refill of water after she just refilled the table next to us. I also had to get up and remind her that she forgot our coffee, I have never done this before while dining out. The food was overpriced and not very good. I liked the bread.
If I could give it a 0 star rating I would. This is the worst restaurant i’ve EVER been to. Only had one server until the manager finally decided to get out and help. The menu is completely misleading and grammatically incorrect so you are NOT getting what you ordered. The food is also overpriced for something that isn’t even cooked all the way/ such low quality. Save your money and time. The manager started SCREAMING at us to get out and raised her voice to make a scene. The WORST restaurant EVER.
The food was delicious the service was excellent and the staff was friendly, a great way to start your day.
We had breakfast here 3 days in a row. Very good food loved their big n thick bacon. Down to earth friendly servers. Just like mom n pops kitchen diner. Delicious .
I don’t like the giant lady she’s rude
The food was good, a tad overpriced for what it was. Service was slow and not very attentive.
Horrible owners the daughter who worked there yelled at me when I was inquiring about the waitlist because 2 people walked up after us and sat down before us and I questioned it lightly and respectfully and the daughter stood yelling and claimed that’s how loud she was and would not listen to customer horrible customer services leads to questionable food if she is incapable of speaking to people respectfully I would not have her in the front of the house
Love the food here but you seriously need to make your cooks wear a hair net. I found a giant hair in my carry out breakfast for the 3rd time
We are staying in Caseville and was going to go to breakfast at Walt’s but the wait was about 40 minutes, so we went to port Austin and only had to wait about 10 minutes here. It is a very small restaurant but it is amazing!! The pancakes were some of the best I’ve ever had from a restaurant, I got an omelette with American fries and rye toast. The food was delicious, my favorite part was the rye toast! I wish we could’ve bought a loaf. We also bought some cinnamon rolls to try later. Definitely coming back here next time we come this way!
The food was good but it was overpriced for a diner breakfast. They didn't seem like they were ready for a Sunday morning crowd either so the service was pretty slow.
Food and service was excellent. Very clean bathroom. Cappuccinos were GREAT. Offered and maintained clean outside seating.
Fine food. Worst service ever. Don't plan on ordering carry out unless you want to wait 1+ hour for your food with 0 communication from the staff.
Wonderful food and service!
Very quaint little cafe. Food was good and service was as quick as I can expect to be under these circumstances
Great food and great service.
Really busy on a Saturday so there is a wait for your food, but the breakfast food is great.
Thre best breakfast ever! This place is like eating with family. I love going here.
Food was good. The cook and who appeared to be owners were not friendly at all. She yelled at our waitress for giving us our toast. Our waitress seemed new and was trying to get everything right. We had a big party so it was tough and she did ok. The 2 stars are for those who appeared to be the owners (and also she was cooking).
Small dinner, very pleasant, locals visit frequently. Very friendly and good breakfast food, nothing fancy. I usually come here for breakfast. Prices are good, good portions.
Great food and great coffee the Omlettes ate the best ❣️
Very good food, large portions and nice staff
Patty melt was ok
Nice little local place. The owner is always happy to see you. Real blueberries in the pancakes. We only had breakfast but it is the best in town. There is a nice park nearby to walk off your meal.
Slow & terrible service. The food is surprisingly fantastic.
Very good breakfast, friendly staff
When you walk in and see a bunch of locals, you know you are in the right place! And Lighthouse Cafe did not disappoint: thick cut bacon, thick, fluffy cinnamon french toast, hand-formed sausage patties..a vug bowl of fresh fruit (enough for two). Don't hesitate.. you WILL be satisfied you chose Lighthouse! (For breakfast, at least ;)
The food was good and our server was very sweet! My only complaint was that, as a customer I shouldn’t here a manager yelling at a waitress or being rude to both waitresses. Hopefully she was just having a bad day and doesn’t normally treat them so bad.
We were staying in Port Cresent State Park when we awoke to a rough storm. We sought refuge at this cozy cafe. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It appears to be made from scratch and the pancakes were great.
Great home-made breakfast with farm fresh ingredients and homemade breads. Food was awesome, but don't be in a hurry, you have to wait for that great food to be served up.
Great food. Friendly staff. The owner talked to us as if we were old friends. Great stop after just driving through town.
Great breakfast. Cozy little diner right in the little downtown area. Friendly service.
Amazing homemade breads! We surprisingly enjoyed our breakfast.
Honestly, we could not be more disappointed. We were seated by a woman who was much less than enthused to we working. Our waitress was no better. She was cold, and never smiled until after another couple walked out. We waited for our food, and another couple stormed out. They yelled about how rude they were, and how long the food was taking. We got our food quite a while after. I had blueberry pancakes, but had to ask for syrup. Also, the sausage patties were raw on the inside. My fiancé got a burger, which didn't have the toppings on it that the menu said. And, I had to ask for coffee refills. Truthfully, there was nothing redeeming about this experience.
Not the best food, fries were way over done we didn't finish our meals
Great food friendly service
Way overpriced for tiny portions of not very good food.
Just your average diner. I thought it a bit odd that we were asked to wait outside for our take out.
Good food and decent service when we stopped in for breakfast. Had sausage eggs American fries and toast. No complaints whatsoever. Waitress was nice and attentive even though the place was rather busy at the time. Prices weren't bad for a tourist town. Worth a stop.
Great food, fast service.
Ate here several times. Good breakfast. Recommend.
Good food, excellent service. One of our faves in Port Austin.
Very good food! Went here for breakfast and everything was made fresh to order. A little bit of a wait but worth it!
Blueberry pancakes and bacon to rival any breakfast joint I've ever visited.
Went to this place today. Way too packed for corona times. Ordered a ham sandwich to go. Was told 20-25 minutes tops. Took more than an hour. Signs say they’ll come out and tell you when the food is ready. They never came outside. Staff was rude, nasty. Food sucked. If you’re ordering, plan on it taking 3x as long as they told you.
